AARF
receives between 20-50 phone calls and approximately 150
emails per week requesting assistance with placing a pet
in a new home. We can't help everyone, but we try to respond
to as many as we can, even if we just point them in the
right direction for assistance. We always need more volunteers
to help answer both phone calls and emails. We'll provide
training and a protocol with tons of information to answer
as many questions as possible. We ask that phone volunteers
sign up for blocks of days (usually 5-7 days every few months)
and email volunteers check the email helpline at least once
every two weeks. Answering the phone and email helplines
is an easy and convenient way for you to help out. You don't
even have to leave the sofa!
